Workshop on Deficiency in Productive Skills of English Language

English Department of Bangladesh University (BU) organized a workshop entitled “Deficiency in Productive Skills of English Language” on 28.10.17 (Saturday) in the BU Auditorium (Main Campus). About 110 students participated in the workshop steer and presented by Subarna Selim, Lecturer of Department of English. Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, Engr. M.A. Ghulam Dastagir, Secretary, BoT and Dean Faculty of Business and Economics stressed the importance of learning the language skills in English to face the challenges of the 21st century. The Chair, Prof. Dr. Anwarul Haque Sharif, Vice Chancellor, Bangladesh University welcomed the participants and urged them to work hard so that they can become successful in their careers. The participants were eager and active in the workshop which was concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Sheikh Alauddin, Assistant Professor, Department of English.
This workshop entitled ‘Deficiency in Productive Skills of English Language’ is highly important in theme and practice alike. Students after getting their degrees in any discipline face interviews for job, go for higher studies abroad or become entrepreneurs themselves in business or related activities. One major problem most of our students face is lack of language skills in English. Once they can overcome this deficiency our students can do miracles in whatever profession he/she enters.
