Mission and Vision of the Department of Mathematics

The Mission of the Department of Mathematics is to provide modern scientific and quality education through an integrated and balanced education system .We want our young mathematicians to attain intellectual competence, analytical ability and ethical perfection so that they can contribute to the development of Bangladesh in all sphares .We expect our students to assume leadership roles both at home and aboard.

Our commitment to providing world class education in Mathematics has motivated us to start a Master of Science and Master of Philosophy in Mathematics in the near future. Our hope is to develop the course such that the use of Mathematics can be widely applied in various industries ranging from IT industries to agriculture – related industries. To ensure our students are able to take on global leadership roles,will also be introducing English course.

Proficiency in English and Mathematics we believe makes a student well-rounded to be successful in any
further studies or careers that may be undertaken. We expect to start this course in new campus soon to be opened at Adabar, Dhaka Uddyan. The Department is also determined to impart quality education- the pre-requisities of which are efficient and sincere teaching staff, as well as appropriate physical facilities. Our committed and well-educated teachers and the spacious air-conditioned class rooms ,modern history, computer Labs ,student lounges and technology equipped seminar rooms make Bangladesh University a top choice among students.
