Parent’s Day along with the Orientation Program of the newly admitted students for Spring Semester 2018 of the different graduate programs of Bangladesh University was held at the University Auditorium on March 03, 2018 (Saturday).

Engr. M. A. Ghulam Dastagir, Secretary, Board of Trustees graced the program as Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Anwarul Haque Sharif, Vice Chancellor, BU was the Chair, while Treasurer Kamrul Hasan, Director (Technical) Quazi Taif Sadat were the special guests. Besides them all Heads of the departments and some guardians also spoke on the occasion.

Engr. M.A. Dastagir urged the students to be well equipped with proper education to become worthy citizen of the country. Mr. Kamrul Hasan, Treasurer, BU mentioned that University's effort to support the meritorious students coming from middle class family has been acclaimed. Quazi Taif Sadat, Director (Technical) advised to pay proper attention not only to study but also to co- curricular and extracurricular activities to face the challenges of the present world. A total number of 475 students enrolled in the graduate and under graduate programs in the Spring Semester - 2018.

The Chair Dr. Anwarul Haque Sharif, Vice Chancellor, Bangladesh University in his speech urged the students to make the best use of the unique learning opportunities available at the University. He also mentioned the availability of generous merit scholarships and financial assistance schemes of the university. Major Niaz Mohammad khan (Retd.), Registrar, Bangladesh University in his welcome address highlighted the existing availability of infrastructure facilities, as well as the qualified faculty members. The guardians along with the newly enrolled students visited the permanent campus of Adabor after the program.

The orientation program was followed by a colorful cultural program. A large number of students, faculty members and high officials of the university were present on the occasion.
