A workshop was organized by the Department of English on Publication Strategies: Focus on Indexed Publication in Web of Sciences and SCOPUS at the permanent campus of Bangladesh University on March 27, 2019. This was the first of a series going to be organized by the department regularly. It was conducted by Mohammad Mosiur Rahman (Ph.D Candidate at School of Languages, Literacies and Translation, Universiti Sains Malaysia supported by the prestigious USM Fellowship awarded in 2018 and Lecturer, BRAC University). Mohammad Mosiur Rahman is the author/co-author of seventeen published/accepted national/international peer-reviewed journal articles. Amidst, thirteen journal articles are indexed in one of the following databases: SCOPUS/Social Science Citation Index (SSCI: Web of Sciences)/ Emerging Sources of Citation (ESCI). Together with publishing, Mohammad Mosiur Rahman has been performing peer reviews for numerous Web of Sciences and SCOPUS indexed journals. According to the PUBLONS's records, based on the web of sciences database, he was one of the top reviewers from Universiti Sains Malaysia in the last twelve months (placed among the top 40 reviewers), and top in his respective field.
Prof. Dr. Anwarul Haque Sharif, Vice Chancellor, BU was present as the Chief Guest while Mr. Kamrul Hasan, Treasurer, BU and Brig. Gen. Md. Mahbubul Haque (Retd), Registrar, BU was present as special guests. Mr. Sheikh Alauddin, Head (in- Charge), Department of English chaired the occasion. Dr. Anwarul Haque Sharif encouraged arranging different workshops, seminars in the university on a regular basis. Mr. Kamrul Hasan emphasized the importance of research and publication in a university and Brig. Gen. Md. Mahbubul Haque (Retd) promised to cooperate in all possible ways to organize such workshops in future. The workshop covered discussion on types of scholarly publication as well as strategies to publish articles in indexed journals. Professor Dr. Sayeedur Rahman, the Adviser of the Dept. of English concluded the program with a vote of thanks.
