The Department of Law, Bangladesh University, organised the Advocate Felicitation Program 2026 on Saturday, felicitating its alumni who successfully qualified in the Bangladesh Bar Council Enrollment Examination and High Court Enrollment Examination in 2026.

Hon’ble Justice Muhammad Mahbub Ul Islam, Judge, High Court Division, Supreme Court of Bangladesh, attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, Vice Chancellor, Bangladesh University, chaired the event. In his address, Justice Mahbub Ul Islam urged the newly enrolled advocates to uphold integrity, professional ethics, continuous learning and commitment to justice and the rule of law.

Kazi Latifur Reza, Head of the Department of Law, Bangladesh University, delivered the welcome address and congratulated the newly enrolled advocates on their professional achievement.

The programme was attended by invited guests Dr. Md. Atickus Samad, Attached Officer (Additional District Judge), Law & Justice Division, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; Sayed Nazrul Islam, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh, Member, Bangladesh Bar Council and Chairman, Bar Council Relief Committee; and Barrister Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Milon, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh, Member, Bangladesh Bar Council and Chairman, Law Reform Committee. The guests were honoured with commemorative crests.

A special felicitation was accorded to Syed Sarwar Alam Nissan, Secretary, Bangladesh University Law Alumni Association, for his election as an Executive Member of the Dhaka Bar Association.

Atikur Rahman Sohan, President, Bangladesh University Law Alumni Association, and Md. Majharul Islam Maruf, Advisor of the association, also addressed the gathering. Representatives of the newly enrolled advocates expressed gratitude to the Department of Law for organising the programme.

The event was hosted by Md. Razeul Alim, Lecturer & Coordinator, Department of Law, Bangladesh University, and attended by faculty members, students, alumni and newly enrolled advocates.
